Dr. Brent C. Norman, a highly esteemed ophthalmologist, is renowned within his community, known for his exceptional skills and an extensive base of loyal patients. Graduating summa cum laude from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, he achieved valedictorian status at Tulane University Medical School.
Dr. Norman completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute within Baylor College of Medicine and pursued his retina fellowship at the distinguished Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California. He then served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Georgia before returning to California to establish his private practice.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Norman has been actively involved in multiple research studies and held prominent positions as the ophthalmology chairman at Western Medical Center, Saddleback Hospital, and Hoag Hospital. His groundbreaking contributions include being the first physician in Orange County to employ silicone oil for complex retinal detachment repair, perfluorocarbon liquids for retinal tears, and radioactive plaques for choroid melanoma, highlighting his commitment to advancing retinal surgery techniques.
